SUBMISSIONS TO THE STORIED-STUFF WEBSITE. Storied-Stuff currently posts new stories on Wednesdays. We are looking for true stories about cherished objects from childhood (or beyond) that you have kept or wish you still had.  Before submitting take a look at some of the stories previously posted.

To submit your story, send a Microsoft Word compatible document of MAXIMUM 500 WORDS, accompanied by a photo of the object to editor@storied-stuff.com. Include a one-sentence bio at the end of your submission.

There is no fee to submit, nor is there any compensation. Storied-Stuff does not solicit or accept advertising.  All rights in the pieces published are retained by the authors, but by submitting the piece the author does vouch that the story is true and grants Storied-Stuff the right to post it on the website.  Storied-Stuff does not promise that every piece submitted will be posted.  We will respond to those who submit stories as quickly as possible. . Thanks. We look forward to hearing from you.

SUMMER WRITING CONTEST RULES: Using blind judging, our judges will read the first fifty pieces sent to us at editor@storied-stuff.com. Deadline for submission: August 8.

Pieces must be accompanied by a separate photo of the keepsake/object (a jpeg, preferably--and please do not embed in the .docx.)

Sharon and Steve will not be judging. Note word limit (500 word max) and text format (.docx), please. One piece per writer. We will close the contest after receiving 50 pieces. All pieces and accompanying photos that meet our standards will be published over the next year. The winner and three runners-up will be published on consecutive Wednesdays in August or September. Submissions that don’t make the 50-piece limit will not be eligible for the contest, but will still be published in the future assuming they meet our standards. The winner will receive a modest prize (to be announced) and, of course, a nice honor to be listed on a bio.

All pieces submitted before July 1 are already in our queue and are not eligible for the contest, but the writers of those pieces are encouraged to enter the contest with new pieces. We will also be accepting pieces from those who have never been published on the site.

Once a piece is submitted, we will not accept a revision; so please make sure you are happy and finished with the piece before sending.

Please put “Contest” in the subject box. email to editor@storied-stuff.com

Good luck!
